Broaching sets

  • The broaching process

Broaching is a machining process for the production of
bore profiles such as keyways, internal squares and hexagons,
external profiles and - with special broaching tools -
    spline and tooth profiles.
  • Drills and milling machines can do this

Small bore profiles can be produced on drills and milling machines with
automatic vertical feed or on mandrel, lever and
spindle presses. For large bore profiles, a
hydraulic press > 50 kN is required.
  • ELMAG broaching sets for the perfect groove

Broaching sets for fast and precise manufacturing of
dimensionally stable and accurately centred keyways
in workpieces made of steel, stainless steel, cast iron and
non-ferrous metals. Application limit is hardness HRC 35.

Examples: Hub grooves for gear wheels, V-belt pulleys, coupling bushes etc.
