      • Thermal-magnetic circuit breaker

        Installation of a thermal magnetic circuit breaker is an important measure for personal protection and protection
        of electrotechnical components. The switch protects against thermal overload and short circuit damage. Generators with a high load value and frequent load peaks - e.g. emergency power systems and generators on construction sites - should be equipped with a thermal magnetic circuit breaker.

      • Thermal tripping in the event of overload

        Overload of the connected consumers causes overload current, which heats the cables and lines. As protection against thermal overload, a switching element made of bimetal is used, through which
        the current flows. The time until the circuit is disconnected depends on the strength of the overload current. The stronger the current, the faster the shutdown occurs.

      • Electromagnetic trigger in the event of a short circuit

        Short-circuit current can occur if the insulation of a power line is damaged or there is a fault in the circuit. The magnetic coil of the thermal-magnetic circuit breaker is traversed by the current and generates a magnetic field. Once the magnetic field reaches a certain level, the circuit is disconnected. Since the strength of short-circuit current is several times that of the normal operating current, the shutdown takes place within a few milliseconds.

      • Manual tripping

        The circuit can be disconnected temporarily by hand at the circuit breaker.
